Create a Global Blog Template
Create a layout that can be used by posts, pages, custom posts, etc.

Showit allows you to create a Global Template that can be applied individually within Wordpress to posts, pages or custom posts. Global templates are used to change the look and feel of a blog post/page. You can create multiple Global Templates with different layouts.

Global Templates can be used to create additional blog layouts that you want to use on individuals posts.

Use case examples include:

  • Full-width layout

  • With Sidebar on the right

  • With Sidebar on the left

Create a Global Template in Showit

  1. Build a Wordpress template for a single post/page layout using standard Wordpress placeholders.

  2. Select the page name in the Site list (left sidebar)

  3. Go to the Template Info section on the right sidebar and set Wordpress Template to Global Template

  4. Publish to make your template available in your blog editor

💡Your template will be named the same in Wordpress as you have it named in Showit.

Apply a Global Template in Wordpress on a Post/Page

  1. When editing a Wordpress blog post or page

  2. Go to the Page Attributes section on the right sidebar settings

  3. Look for a Template dropdown option.

  4. Select your template from the list.
