These are the steps on how to manually connect your domain through Bluehost.

⚠️ If you are wanting to migrate a blog you can not switch your DNS records until our Showit blog team has finished migrating your blog. If you do switch your DNS records before your blog is migrated, our blog team will be unable to migrate your blog. Once the migration is complete, our team will message you and give you the necessary DNS records.

If you need to add or migrate a blog you can do so here:

💡 If you've already applied the DNS settings and just need to have the SSL (secured url) applied, you can message our support team and ask for that to be setup.

To get started you'll want to login to your Bluehost account where you have your domain hosted. Select the Domains tab on the left column then the dropdown options to DNS.

Next you should see the DNS settings.

1. You may already have an A Record with your domain listed here. If so just select the 3 little dots to the right to edit the A Record and update the IP address

to: 75.101.134.27 (as seen below) (Have a blog? Use the IP provided by our team)

If you don't have any A Records listed simply select the blue Add Record

For the host record enter in: @

For the Value enter in: 75.101.134.27 (Have a blog? Use the IP provided by our team)

You'll need to add in a new A Record for this next part.

For the host record enter in: * (this star symbol)

For the Value enter in: 75.101.134.27

💡 Be sure that the Nameservers at the top are defaulted to bluehost in order for the DNS settings to apply.

2. You may already have an CNAME Record here as well with your domain, be sure the Host name is: www (as shown below)

and the Points To contains: (yourdomain) (as shown below)

  • If the www CNAME is showing a different Points To you can edit the record by selecting the 3 little dots to the right and adding in (yourdomain)

⚠️ Make sure there are no other A Records named @ or CNAME Records named www. If there are, delete those records so the new DNS settings will apply.

Once you have set up these 3 DNS records occasionally, the changes that were made can take time to propagate throughout the internet worldwide. So if you aren't seeing it live just yet, give it another few hours, and refresh the page.
In rare cases, it can take up to 48 hours for full propagation. If it's not working at that point for you, then let us know.

If you need your URL secured (SSL applied) please contact our support team in the Showit app (bottom right corner) and ask for an SSL certificate to be applied.
