These are the steps on how to manually connect your domain through WIX.
If you need to add or migrate a blog you can do so here:
💡 If you've already applied the DNS records and just need to have the SSL (secured url) applied, you can message our support team and ask for that to be setup. |
To get started you'll want to login to your Wix account where you have your domain hosted. After you've logged in select the drop down from your name in the upper left corner and open the Domains section.
Next you should see the view below.
Select the 3 little dots next to your domain to drop down the navigation menu then select: Manage DNS Records.
Next, you should see the view below.
1. You may already have an A Record with your domain listed here. If so just select the 3 little dots to the right to edit the A Record and update the IP address
to the value found in your unique DNS records value found in your account.
If you don't have any A Records listed simply select: + Add Record
Leave the Host name section blank as this will default to your domain name.
For the Value enter your unique DNS records value found in your account.
2. You may already have an CNAME Record here as well with your domain, be sure the Host name is: www (yourdomain) (as shown below)
and the value contains: (yourdomain) (as shown below)
If the www CNAME is showing a different VALUE you can edit the record by selecting the 3 little dots to the right and adding in (yourdomain)
Lastly, you'll want to ensure that the Nameservers are set to Wix nameservers as shown below.
If these nameservers are not set to Wix please contact our support team as we can help resolve the issue.
NOTE: If these are not set to wix nameservers the above DNS records will not apply.
These changes take time to propagate throughout the internet worldwide. So if you aren't seeing it live just yet, give it another few hours, and refresh the page.
In rare cases, it can take up to 48 hours for full propagation. If it's still not showing your site at your domain after the 48hr mark, just contact Showit support!
If you need your URL secured (SSL applied) please contact our support team in the Showit app (bottom right corner) and ask for an SSL certificate to be applied.
To find your specific DNS records follow these steps:
1). Click your name in the lower left corner of Showit
2). Choose Manage Account
3). Click Your DNS Records below your domain
(If you do not see a domain in your account screen, go into the Showit app and ensure you have clicked “connect my domain” in the upper left of Showit to first submit your domain)
4). Apply the DNS records - you can work with your domain host customer support to do so by giving them the records or reference the steps above for instructions on setting up these records
