⚠️ If you are wanting to migrate a blog you can not switch your DNS records until our Showit blog team has finished migrating your blog. If you do switch your DNS records before your blog is migrated, our blog team will be unable to migrate your blog. Once the migration is complete, our team will message you and give you specific DNS records.

If you need to add or migrate a blog you can do so here:

💡 If you've already applied the DNS settings and just need to have the SSL (secured url) applied, you can message our support team and ask for that to be setup.

To get started you'll want to login to your Squarespace account where you have your domain hosted. Navigate to your domain section select the 3 little dots to manage the domain.

⚠️ You may have your domain locked and need to unlock the domain before you can access the DNS settings. If you run into this issues you can contact squarespace to help unlock your domain.

Next, select the domain.

Next, select DNS Settings tab.

Here you'll find your domain DNS settings. You may see other records in your DNS so make sure you are only removing the website defaults records.

After you have deleted the Website Defaults records you'll want to add in the following showit DNS settings. This will connect your showit site to your domain.

Set the DNS records to the following values:

⚠️Enter the CNAME record first and then click SAVE. Squarespace sometimes needs this to be entered in first and saved before the next 2 A Records are entered.

CNAME Record: www to: yourdomain.com (<--whatever your unique domain is - like ours would be showit.co)

A Record: @ to: 75.101.134.27 (Have a showit blog? Use the IP provided by our team)
A Record: * to: 75.101.134.27

Be sure to SAVE the changes you have made

⚠️ If you encounter a notification about setting your Nameservers then you'll need to navigate to the Advanced Settings tab and default the nameservers to use Squarespace nameservers. This will allow the DNS settings you just set to be applied.

If you run into an issue saving your dns setting you may need to contact squarespace and have them assist you. Squarespace DNS settings can sometimes be difficult to save.

The changes above take time to propagate throughout the internet worldwide. So if you aren't seeing it live just yet, give it another few hours, and refresh the page.
In rare cases, it can take up to 48 hours for full propagation. If it's still not showing your site at your domain after the 48hr mark, just contact Showit support!

If you need your URL secured (SSL applied) please contact our support team in the Showit app (bottom right corner) and ask for an SSL certificate to be applied.
