A Comments Section is included on the Single Post template page of all of the templates in the Showit Library. If you want to create your own comments section for your blog posts, you can find out how to do so here.

Create Comments Section Canvases

1. Select your Single Post page in the Showit Design App.

2. Add two new canvases to your page and name one Comments and the other Comment Form.

3. Drag them up/down into the order you would like them in the page structure.

4. Set the canvas type of both of these canvases to Grow with Content (on both the mobile and desktop design.)

Add a Comment Count Text Box

If you would like a text field that updates with the number of comments, (e.g. “11 Comments”) first add a text box. Then, go to the Text Field settings on the right side Properties Panel and set the WordPress Placeholder as Comment Link. Type a placeholder message into the text box that will display on your live site only if your blog doesn't have comments yet. Tip: Place this above where your comments will display.

Creating the Comments Canvas

Add a paragraph style text box to the Comments canvas and size it to fit your canvas. Set the WordPress Placeholder on this text box to Post Comments.

Creating the Comment Form Canvas

Add another paragraph style text box to the Comments Form canvas and size it to fit your canvas. Set the WordPress Placeholder on this text box to Comments Form.

You’re ready to publish and have your comments section to go live your your site!
